Visuals and storytelling are two of the business founder’s biggest assets.

For any beautifully planned brand story — there are no rules that work like dream every time, the secret is how closely you know your audience, you know their pulse, what makes them tick, the type of stories that kindle their response, and lastly how all of this foxtrots with your fundamental business story.

Don’t believe me? Check out some facts from a Nielson study:

92% percent of consumers around the world say they trust earned media, such as word-of-mouth or recommendations from friends and family, above all other forms of advertising — an increase of 18% since 2007.

Online consumer reviews are the second most trusted source of brand information and messaging, with 70% of global consumers indicating they trust online messages, an increase of 15% in four years.

While nearly half of consumers around the world say they trust television (47%), magazine (47%) and newspaper ads (46%), confidence respectively declined by 24 percent, 20 percent and 25 percent between 2009 and 2011.

Now, heaps of spanking new storytelling platforms have sprouted in the last few years that allow founders not only to choose for their journey called business but also to traverse in a nonlinear manner to the themes of the story that entice their curiosity.

Even if you have only two pairs of hands to work with, with no fancy teams or designers, you can still create your own brand stories with the help of online tools and easy to use software applications. These storytelling tools can turn any founder into an impactful storyteller and while the market is flooded with tools — these are the basics that can make any beginner look like a pro!

1. Infogr.am

Infographics create an interesting narrative more than simply messaging. They make text easy to digest and tend to get shared a lot on social media. Infogr.am is a tool that makes designing your own infographics a simple process, and make sure it has all the key characteristics: drama, familiarity, simplicity, immersion, relatability, and trust in the teller or simply use one of the Infogr.am’s themes.

2.Adobe Spark

Yes, you are a non-designer but know a bit more than a novice then Adobe Spark might be for you, it has tons of features to create a high-caliber, professional story. The engaged and knowledgeable community can help answer questions and show you the various steps.

3. Canva

Canva is a superpower house of ALL. It allows you to create designs with this easy-to-use platform. Its drag-and-drop interface. Canva lets you create custom images using templates or from scratch.

And that’s a wrap!

There are plenty of other ways to use visual media to tell a story that we haven’t covered. There’s also the crossover-content formats such as eBooks (we like to think of these as picture books grownups read at work) and white papers (more text-heavy, but with nice iconography, graphs, and other visual aids).

But we’d have to create a novel to go into the level of detail that visual storytelling truly deserves. So this will have to suffice for now.

Besides, we think you get the picture, and if not, well …
